Marking Black History Month at Extendicare: Meet Edmond, a resident at Extendicare Brampton
Edmond says “As a Canadian Black man, Black History Month represents what we have gone through in order to be where we are now. Black History Month gives a chance to celebrate who we are.”
Edmond, native of Guyana, moved to Canada after serving in the military. Once in Canada, Edmond explored jobs in the trades.
Edmond moved to Extendicare Brampton in 2021 and has brought fun and music and dance to residents and team members. Edmond inspired a new program – “Dance Party Fridays” where residents and team members choose a song of their liking, and everyone joins in to dance. It’s true celebration of everyone’s culture and personality!
